This is a special time for Fed Computer Services, as we are celebrating 20 years in business!

The company began in New Orleans, LA in 1986, providing energy and water conservation products to residents, its client list growing to include apartment complexes, hotels, and government buildings. We continued to expand the breadth of our offerings by auditing energy bills with a custom software product that I developed. This led to work with the local utility company, assisting their clients in lowering their energy consumption and costs.

Fed Computer Services moved from New Orleans to the Washington, DC area in 1995, and applied under the SBA 8(a) Program. Our focus as a company changed to include more application development and programming, network architecture and support, infrastructure, and security. We received a Top Secret Clearance and a GSA Group 70 Schedule for our labor rates. Subsequently, we competed for, and won a GSA 8(a) STARS contract to provide computer systems design services and computer systems facilities management services.

Fed Computer Services continued to grow over the years, attracting talented technical professionals, and winning government contracts for increasingly complex projects that included telecommunications support, Oracle development, Y2K and Section 508 compliance, HIPAA security, VoIP, and many other information technology related disciplines. One of our most interesting and challenging projects involves training helicopter pilots in Colombia, South America. We have enjoyed a successful relationship with a major defense contractor on this project, and look forward to expanding this area of expertise for Fed Computer Services.

As we go into our twentieth year as a company, our goal continues to be to listen to our client’s needs, understand their requirements, and deliver integrated solutions that exceed their expectations using our tested, proven methodologies. It is because of our clients that we are here after two decades, and strive to grow and deliver quality solutions for many more years to come.
